In the video "Mimikry", Pascale Grau acts out her emotional expressions in a metamorphosis-like manner by slowly changing one part of her face after the other. The face becomes a screen between the inside (psyche) and the outside (culture). The screen becomes a mirror that seduces the viewer into identifying and playing along (mimesis). However, this game also becomes a kind of masquerade that distracts the other person in order to protect them from their real feelings.
