The tragedy "Bacches" by the ancient Greek poet Euripides is narrated: Dionysus is not recognized as a god by the king of Thebes, which is why Dionysus takes revenge on both the king and the inhabitants of Thebes. Every single scene of the tragedy is condensed into a single word. These words are painted on the bellies of amphorae (performers). The sound acoustically reinforces the inevitability of the Thebans' cruel fate.
