Abstract
This video shows how a natural trumpet ensemble with a kettledrum would have played in the late Renaissance and early Baroque era. The sonata interpreted by the musicians is semi-improvised after models from Cesare Bendinelli’s “Volume di Tutta l’arte della trombetta” (1614): the Toccata n° 1 (fol. 5r), the Sonata n°117 (fol. 27v), and the Rotta from the Sonata n° 328b (fol. 53v).
